Investment Banking provides clients with a variety of advisory and financing solutions. Specializing in high-growth-growing markets, our expert advisers focus on mergers and acquisitions, capital restructurings and empowerment deals, as well as organizing financing for acquisitions, client tasks and property transactions. The positioning reports to the UNITED STATES CIB Head and Head Investment Banking East Africa, and will involve close conversation with Client Coverage Head for Tanzania in addition to the country-client romantic relationship management teams, TPS, and Global Markets.
• Includes a good understanding of CIB Global’s overall strategy, and of how the strategy of IB Tanzania facilitates this global strategy. • Drives the re-establishment of the Investment Banking Business in Tanzania. • Develops and nurtures tactical associations with clients in Tanzania to ensure that the strategy and business goals of clients and Standard Bank or investment company Group are aligned.
• Drives and role models an excellent client orientates culture that proactively provides solutions to client needs. • Alongside the East Africa IB Head defines and continually reviews the Tanzania coverage strategy and business objectives. • Comprehensive understanding of financial services industry trends and the evolution of Corporate and Investment Banking practice both nationally and internationally. • Aware of and has a close understanding of the activities of traditional and non-traditional competitors and exactly how this affects CIB East Africa’s client relationships. • Develops an intimate knowledge of clients’ sectors and businesses, analysis of their modus operandi, management practices, judgment of varied influential decision makers, and market conditions influencing the long-term viability of both individual industry and clients areas.
• Utilizes management information systems and processes to pre-empt offering opportunities and proactively identify opportunities and risks to both clients and the lender. • Effectively uses client, industry, and market knowledge to continually provide information, thereby ensuring that the Bank’s products and services continuously meet the customer needs and stay abreast with world best practice. • Includes a good understanding of the economies of Tanzania and the wider East African region, the proper direction of the countries in your community are taking and the impact of such developments on clients and industries.

• Has a good knowledge of both similarities and the distinctions in the East African countries. • Displays pre-empts and marketplaces risk for both Client and the lender. • Screens implementation and improvement of client penetration strategies. • Ensures that Country and Product partners understand the overall client coverage strategy and, specifically, that the IB Franchise names are appropriately included in the relevant IB Champion envisioned with the aim of originating and executing transactions. • Delivers- budgeted IB quantity on an annual basis as well as product. • Appropriately balances specialized insight and marketing skill to address customer environment and needs.
• Introduces specialist skills (e.g. Transactional/ Electronic Banking Manager, Global Markets) on specific products, and product blend at the correct time and level, to be able to produce solutions, which satisfies Customer needs effectively. • Builds relationships across all hierarchical levels within and beyond your Bank to build up a credible and relevant network, to ensure industry-leading financial and market information.
• Develops good personal associations with the Heads of the inter-related Business Units within the region and the Bank to ensure close co-operation between the Units. • Develops and keeps relationships with clients at Chairman, CEO, and CFO level. • Ensures that client confidence is supported by solid delivery of expected benefits such as cost-efficient finance and reliability of required service standards.
• Works to ensure delivery from varying Standard Bank or investment company Group products on Regional Investment Banking Execution teams, Standard Bank or investment company Africa sector coverage groups and the TPS and Global Markets groups.
